Philip Ellovich was a Jewish immigrant from Romania who immigrated with his family to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in 1905. After graduating from the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy, he went into business and ran two Reznor Drug Stores in Sharon, Pennsylvania.
